Figure Painting in Acrylic
Discover new ways to capture the fleeting qualities of the figure – an impression, emotion or action through experimenting with acrylic paint on coloured grounds. It’s exciting to see how you can develop different moods through colour choice. Painting the figure is fun, dynamic and hugely rewarding! You may use your own imagery or follow along with the instructor in her selected figure work. See example at right.

Painting Faces – Not Portraits!

This workshop will take you through the very rewarding world of painting faces. We’ll approach our project from several different angles – how color affects mood, how we can use very little detail to get the sense of the face, how we can use the background and just part of the face for great and interesting visual impact. This won’t really be about painting a “portrait” but rather how we can use our face images in a way that is engaging and meaningful to any viewer. See the sample at right, or visit Sharon’s website.

Figure Painting in Acrylic
Learn how to paint the figure in a new way. In this workshop we will catch the fleeting qualities of the figure Ð an impression or emotion that is felt towards the subject. Experiment with using a natural flow of form and line to keep the eye moving in a controlled pattern. We will incorporate our backgrounds with the figure giving it a sensual and spirit like quality that seems about to dissolve and shift into another shape.
You will have the option of using your own image or follow along with the instructor in her selected work. Our subject material will be a dance figure.
